Test Prep Strategies & Online SAT Preparation FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Distance Learning get the same results as in-person?

Yes. Our online SAT prep courses consistently achieve the same top-notch score improvements as our in-person programs. Unlike large virtual lecture halls, our Live Online classes are small, interactive seminars that keep students engaged. They include every element of our in-person courses—personal attention, targeted instruction, and proven test prep strategies—just delivered remotely. See real results on our Distance Learning Rave Reviews page.

What platform do you use for Distance Learning?

We use Zoom for all Live Online courses. This secure, interactive platform allows students and teachers to see each other, ask questions aloud, and chat privately. All materials are designed for both in-person and online instruction, enabling teachers to share lessons, annotate documents, and highlight important concepts in real time.

Do students need a computer with a camera?

No. A camera is not required, but it is strongly encouraged for better teacher-student connection and feedback. Students can join from laptops, tablets, or even smartphones—Zoom is mobile-friendly and works on all major devices.

What if my child has to miss a session?

We offer weekly Make-Up sessions with live instructors, covering the same content as regular classes. Multiple make-up options are available to fit your schedule. This ensures students stay on track without missing key lessons or SAT preparation online.

What if my child needs extra help?

We provide multiple support options:

  • Spotlight Sessions to reinforce skills from regular classes (no extra cost)
  • Direct teacher access via phone or email.
  • Short one-on-one review sessions before class.
  • Ongoing support from our Site Directors—experts in every SAT section—even after the course ends.

How does diagnostic testing work in your SAT prep?

Our proprietary online platform mirrors the official digital SAT environment, including adaptive testing. This ensures students are comfortable with the format and pacing on test day. Extended time options are available.

How do students get course materials?

Upon registration, students receive an introductory package with core materials. Additional, customized resources are emailed throughout the course to support their test preparation services.

What are the technical requirements for online SAT prep classes?

Zoom works with:

  • macOS X 10.10+
  • Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, or 11
  • ChromeOS

Supported browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari (within 2 versions of the latest release).
Full system requirements are listed on Zoom’s website.
