Bradley Tao

Test Prep Tutor

I studied Psychology and German at the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and went on to earn a Master's degree in Psychology from New York University. My academic and research experiences span the fields of social psychology, organizational behavior, and psychiatry. As a tutor, I enjoy helping students not only improve their academic performance, but also develop the skills and habits that will serve them throughout their education. Whether a student is preparing for an exam, working to raise a grade, strengthening foundational skills, or exploring a subject they are passionate about, I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to their individual needs. One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is seeing students gain confidence in their abilities and begin to take pride in their own growth. My background in research has taught me how to break down complex ideas into understandable concepts and communicate them clearly. I believe that effective learning is not just about mastering content, but also about developing the study habits, problem-solving skills, and self-regulatory strategies needed for long-term success. Outside of academics, I enjoy running and hiking — pursuits that reflect values I bring into my work with students. Running has taught me the value of persistence and steady progress: the understanding that reaching your goal is incremental and requires consistent effort. Hiking, meanwhile, has instilled in me an intrinsic appreciation of the journey itself — a reminder that the process of exploration, discovery, and learning is often more rewarding than arriving at your destination.
