Manoshi Hassan
Education Manager and Tutor
Since the age of nine, I have been passionate about helping younger students and peers achieve their academic goals. Whether it was effectively finding and utilizing compelling evidence for a history essay or quickly solving systems of equations, I truly enjoyed supporting others on their individual learning journeys. Fortunately, I was able to build upon my passion at Vassar College. In addition to pursuing my degree in economics, I provided homework assistance to local Poughkeepsie students, helping them reach a 100% homework completion rate and achieve significant improvements in math and English test scores. After graduation, I started working at a public high school in Brooklyn where I taught reading, math, and computer literacy skills to newly arrived immigrant students to help them master both foundational and higher-level material.
Although I enjoy every aspect of teaching, I would say my absolute favorite part is when students go from thinking a specific concept is difficult to exclaiming “This is so easy!” That moment always proves to learners that what often starts as “challenging” usually becomes effortless with enough hard work and dedication. Furthermore, I love getting to know my students’ academic and personal goals as this creates an environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions without any fear of judgement. Ultimately, my mission as an educator is to create a safe and collaborative space where students foster a genuine love for learning and feel prepared to succeed both in school and in life.
Outside of teaching, you can find me either reading, hiking, learning a new language, or watching a film!
