Stephen Minakyan

I’ve been a Site Director and full-time SAT/ACT expert here at TestTakers for over a decade. I grew up here in Manhasset, where I graduated in the top 5% of my class and was an AP Scholar with Distinction before going on to earn a degree in Economics from the College of William & Mary. While in college, I tutored extensively, including for the children of many of my professors! I enjoyed tutoring academic subjects, but the reasoning and logic skills at the heart of the SAT have always been particularly interesting to me (and remain valuable to students long after those tests are done). After college, I began teaching and site directing for TestTakers where my role has involved both training other teachers and some SAT research and material development; 15 years and a few dozen perfect scores later, I still enjoy developing inventive methods to bring clarity to lessons. When I’m not at work, I’m either cooking outside, playing with my Aussie Shepherd, passing time at a trivia night, or actively following my Mets or Knicks.
