I graduated from Brown University with a degree in Human Development. While at Brown, I worked extensively with young students in Providence who were struggling with math and with the SAT. My work with these students honed my passion for making mathematics accessible and meaningful. I went on to earn a master’s degree in Mathematics Education from Stanford University. There, I became committed to understanding how students learn and helping them build confidence and curiosity in the classroom. I have taught mathematics to students in grades 6–9 in San Francisco and New York City classrooms. My teaching philosophy centers around helping all students see themselves as “math people,” regardless of their past experiences or limiting thoughts about their potential. Passionate about student-centered education, I focus on honoring what students already know while thoughtfully bridging the gap to new concepts. Through this approach, I helps students recognize the value of their thinking, develop confidence, and grow into capable, independent problem solvers. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and taking unreasonably long walks throughout NYC.
